Naxalbari, 06th October: A young individual identified as Sagar Nagasia was found dead in the Chenga River of Kadma adjacent to Belgachi Tea Estate located in Naxalbari. The incident led to the arrest of the accused wife Jayanti Kujur Nagasia and her lover Bishnu Mahanto.
According to information, Sagar and Jayanti were reportedly married eight years ago. The couple had a normal relationship until Jayanti was introduced to Bishnu through social media about two years ago. The two engage in infidelity leading to frequent altercations between the married couple. Following turmoil in the relationship, Sagar Nagasia’s deceased body was recovered from the Chenga River on October 3.
As a result, the deceased’s family registered a formal complaint alleging murder following the recovery of the body. Subsequently, the police initiated an investigation and arrested the lover and later the wife based on the filed complaint. Police sources claimed that both the accused have confessed to the alleged murder. On Friday, the accused have been produced in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. At present, the entire incident is under police investigation.
