Man’s body found in rented house in Siliguri, triggers sensation

Siliguri, 21st February: A sensation spread after the body of a man was recovered from a rented house in Ward No. 37, Rahut Para, Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Swapan Rahut (58), who had been living in the area for several years.


According to reports, the house owner had not seen Swapan Rahut for the past few days. On Friday morning, a foul smell was noticed, prompting the owner to investigate. Upon looking through the window, the man was found lying dead on the ground.

Following the discovery, the Ashighar Outpost police were informed. The police arrived at the scene, broke open the door, and recovered the body. It was then sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for autopsy.


As per police sources, the man is suspected to have died about three days ago. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
