Bagdogra, 20th October: A man’s body was found hanging in a tea garden, causing a stir in the area. The deceased has been identified as Gourang Kirtaniya, a Malda resident living at his grandfather’s house in Pramod Nagar, Bagdogra.
Locals spotted the body while out for a walk on Sunday morning and promptly notified the police. Officers from the Bagdogra police station arrived at the scene and sent the body for autopsy at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
The victim’s grandfather expressed shock and disbelief regarding the circumstances leading to the tragic incident. The Bagdogra police have launched an investigation into the incident.
