Fulbari, 25th May: Sensation gripped the area of Jotiakali after the body of Shahidul Islam (37), was found hanging from a banyan tree near his home on Friday night. The discovery was made around 8 p.m., just a few hundred meters from his residence in Jaydebvita village, adjacent to Jotiakali of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat. Islam, a laborer, lived with his wife and three children.
According to family sources, both husband and wife worked as laborers to support their family and had no known disputes. On Friday evening, Islam’s wife returned home to find her husband there. However, he left shortly after, and around 8 p.m., his wife spotted his body hanging from a tree while searching for him.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Fulbari, where doctors declared him brought dead. Local social worker Nasirul Islam expressed confusion over the incident, stating that there was no apparent disturbance within the family.
This incident follows the discovery of another body hanging from a noose in Jotiakali earlier that afternoon, intensifying the shock and concern within the community. The back-to-back incidents have sparked widespread sensation and speculation in the area. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding these deaths.
