‘Mann Ki Baat’ is not providing COVID-19 vaccines in Bengal: Goutam Deb

Siliguri, 26th May: Due to the shortage of vaccines in Siliguri, people are facing extreme difficulties in receiving the second dose. SMC administrator Goutam Deb indirectly took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this concern.

Deb went to the Municipal Primary Health Center-7 in the Sri Guru Vidya Mandir premises to keep a check on the vaccination process.

Addressing the media, Goutam Deb said, “Bengal is not being vaccinated. There is a need for 70 oxygen plants in Bengal, but only four plants have been approved.”

He alleged that the people of Bengal are being treated this way because they have ‘not voted for the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ party’. He added that the second dose of the vaccine might arrive by June 05. Following which, the process of giving the second dose will commence.

In the meantime, as per the instructions of the health department, the vaccination process has started at the Sri Guru Vidya Mandir of SMC, Matri Sadan, and in Siliguri prison.

120-150 people working in the transport department at Municipal Primary Health Center-7 will be vaccinated. 100-150 retailers in Matri Sadan will be given Covishield vaccine. Also, 100 people will be vaccinated in Siliguri Jail.
