Siliguri, 22nd January: The state government has taken an initiative to renovate the libraries across the state. Manik Bandhopadhyay Smriti Pathagar in Ward No. 37 which was in a state of disrepair was given a new look on Friday.
The library was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Goutam Deb. Ranjan Shil Sharma, Jalpaiguri district library official Saikat Goswami and many others were present during the inaugural function.
With the introduction of e-books, Minister Goutam Deb said, book-lovers are abstaining from visiting libraries. Therefore, besides restoring the libraries, an initiative has been taken to bring new interesting books in the libraries.
