Siliguri, 07th February: In a tragic incident, a man, identified as Mukesh Roy, a resident of Thokar area in Siliguri, died after falling from a moving train while returning home after celebrating his wedding anniversary.
According to reports, Mukesh had gone to Sevoke with his wife and family on Thursday. After offering prayers at the Sevoke Kali temple, the family boarded a train from Sevoke Railway Station to return home.
Sources revealed that Mukesh Roy was standing at the door of the train when it was passing near Rajiv Nagar Railway Quarters. He suddenly fell from the moving train and died on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, the Junction Town GRP team rushed to the spot and recovered Mukesh’s body. As per GRP sources, the accident occurred due to negligence. Passengers are frequently warned not to stand near the door of moving trains, but such warnings are often ignored, leading to accidents.
Meanwhile, Mukesh Roy’s body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for postmortem on Friday. The Junction Town GRP has started an investigation into the incident.
