Fulbari, 19th June: A man was dramatically rescued on Thursday afternoon after getting trapped in the muddy sludge of the Teesta Canal near Murder More in Fulbari. The rescue operation, which lasted nearly an hour, involved local residents, police personnel, and firefighters.
According to reports, the man had entered the canal for unknown reasons and suddenly became stuck in thick muddy sludge. As he struggled, his body gradually sank deeper, leaving him partially submerged and unable to free himself.
Local residents quickly gathered and attempted to rescue him, but the dense sludge made their efforts difficult. The situation prompted an emergency response, with teams from the Fulbari Highway Traffic Outpost, New Jalpaiguri Police Station, and the fire brigade rushing to the spot.
After a coordinated effort involving ropes and physical support, firefighters managed to pull the man out safely. The timely intervention prevented what could have become a tragic incident.
