Cooch Behar, 27th February: A civic volunteer has been accused of murdering an individual over a land dispute in the Chilkirhat area of Cooch Behar-I block. The deceased has been identified as Tarun Roy while the accused has been identified as Monirul Miyan.
It was reported that Tarun was returning from his relative’s house, on Wednesday, when a group of 10 people including Monirul Miyan attacked Tarun with a sharp weapon, due to which, Tarun died on the spot. The locals sighted the dead body, today morning, and informed the police about the incident. Upon receiving the news, the Kotwali Police reached the spot and started investigating the incident.
