Rajganj, 05th September: A horrifying incident unfolded on Monday night in Dudhia village, Milan Pally, adjacent to Gajoldoba in the Rajganj block, as a father tragically killed his son amidst an escalating family dispute over land. The victim has been identified as Bilas Mondal, aged 32. In response to this shocking event, the Milan Pally Outpost police took custody of the accused father, Basudeb Mondal, aged 60.
Reportedly, the dispute over land had been simmering for an extended period. It escalated to a shocking climax when the father allegedly used a sharp weapon to attack his son. The attack left Bilas severely injured, and he was rushed to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The Milan Pally Outpost police detained five individuals, including Basudeb Mondal and Bilas’s stepmother, as part of their ongoing investigation. A thorough inquiry into the matter has been launched after transferring the deceased’s body to the mortuary. In the aftermath of this tragedy, a palpable sense of fear and unease has gripped the area’s residents.
