Alipurduar, 03rd February: Sensation prevailed in the area of North Chhekamari area under Madarihat block on Thursday night after a man died in a wild elephant attack.
Reportedly, at night Devendra Bhattarai had gone to the betel nut plantation behind his house where a wild elephant attacked him, due to which he died on the spot.
On the other hand, soon after getting the news of the incident, the Madarihat police reached the spot and recovered the body. Police today sent the body to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem and have started an investigation into the incident.
