Naxalbari, 23rd May: A tragic incident surfaced after an individual lost his life after being hit by a container truck in the Hatighisa area of Naxalbari. The deceased has been identified as Khushiram Gurung, a resident of the Mangal Singh area of Hatighisa.
As per reports, the incident took place earlier in the morning when the individual left home for a morning walk. During this, a container truck travelling from Bagdogra struck him from behind. The impact was fatal resulting in Khushiram Gurung’s immediate demise.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Naxalbari police arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the container involved attempted to flee the scene.
However, the vehicle was intercepted at the Kharibari quarter junction when the driver managed to abscond. The Naxalbari police have launched an investigation into the entire incident.
