Siliguri, 29th March: A man died after being electrocuted near an electric pole in the Shanti Nagar’s Boubazar area of Siliguri, reportedly due to a short circuit.
According to local sources, residents rushed out of their homes late Saturday night after hearing a loud sound. Upon stepping outside, they found the man lying beside an electric pole on the roadside.
The Ashighar Outpost police were immediately informed. Acting on the information, police reached the spot and recovered the body.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident may have occurred due to a short circuit. Police from the Ashighar Outpost have initiated a detailed probe into the matter.
