Alipurduar, 09th November: In a tragic incident, a man lost his life in an elephant attack in Madarihat, Alipurduar district. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Shyam Munda, a resident of Jamtala area in Madarihat.
According to reports, Shyam Munda was heading to a neighbor’s house after leaving his own home on Friday night when he suddenly encountered a wild elephant. Tragically, he lost his life in the ensuing attack.
Upon receiving information about the incident, forest officials and officers from the Madarihat police station arrived at the scene. The body was recovered and has been sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for an autopsy. Police are currently investigating the incident.
