Man dies after coming under wheels of toy train near Gyan Jyoti More, Siliguri

Siliguri, 28th March: A person died after coming under the wheels of a toy train near Gyan Jyoti More area adjacent to Darjeeling More. The deceased has been identified as Bablu Kumar Sha (30), a resident of Baghajatin Colony, Ward No. 45, Siliguri. He worked as a delivery boy in a private company.


As per the information, Bablu had reached near Gyan Jyoti More to deliver an item this morning. After delivering the parcel, he was standing next to the railway line and talking on the phone when he was allegedly hit by the NJP-Darjeeling toy train. When he fell on the railway tracks, the train ran over him and Bablu died on the spot.

Meanwhile, IC of Pradhannagar Police Station, Traffic DCP Abhishek Gupta, ADCP Purnima Sherpa, and Junction Traffic Guard reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. Junction GRP team also reached the spot. However, it is not yet clear whether it was an accident or a case of suicide. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.

    This place of railway track & crossing is dangerous. Many accidents have taken place in the crossing, railways do not heed.
