Siliguri, 22nd July: A young man lost his life, on Friday night, after being hit by a train on the Chamta Railway Line in Matigara. The deceased has been identified as Jagabandhu Singh, a resident of 2 No Panchanan Colony. Notably, this is not the first instance of the occurrence of such an incident in the Chamta Railway Line area.
As per reports, on Friday night, a Kolkata-bound train; Kanchankanya Express was passing through from Siliguri junction. During this, the said youth was on the railway line and got run over by the train, resulting in fatal injuries. The incident spread sensation in the entire area.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, the police of Matigara Police Station and Siliguri Junction Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot. In addition, the wife and sister of the deceased also arrived at the spot. Meanwhile, the GRP team recovered the deceased’s body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, while, the investigation was underway.
