Jalpaiguri, 27th July: 34-year-old Animesh Debnath lost his life after his father allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon during a conflict between the two. Following the incident, the father surrendered himself to the police.
Reportedly, the accused Anil Kumar Debnath is a resident of the Jalpaiguri Ward No. 23 Aurobindonagar area. According to family sources, his son Animesh often used to come home intoxicated and physically abuse his elderly father, wife, and son.
When a similar episode happened yesterday, unable to bear such torture, Animesh’s father stabbed his son to death with a sharp weapon.
Upon receiving the news, the Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. While the accused has already admitted the crime, the police have launched a further investigation into the incident.
