Man caught selling drugs in Kharibari, 132 grams of brown sugar seized

Kharibari, 19th November: A man was apprehended by villagers while attempting to sell drugs in the Gagaru Jote area of Panitanki, Kharibari. The arrested individual has been identified as Hamza Sheikh, a resident of Baishnab Nagar in Malda. Authorities recovered 132 grams of brown sugar from his possession, creating a stir in the area.


Reportedly, a quarrel broke out between two individuals during an exchange of brown sugar in Gagaru Jote. Locals, noticing the commotion, intervened and caught the drug pedler.

Upon receiving the information, personnel from the Panitanki Outpost in Kharibari and SSB jawans arrived at the scene. After searching the accused, 132 grams of brown sugar was recovered. He was subsequently arrested and taken to Kharibari police station.


The accused is scheduled to be presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
