Bagdogra, 17th February: Sensation ensued in the area of Bagogra’s Gonsainpur after a son-in-law attacked his father-in-law with a sharp weapon and fled.
Reportedly, five years ago, Sushil Sarkar, a resident of Bhujiapani of Bagdogra, had wedded his daughter Anita to Deepak Roy, a resident of Gonsaipur. After marriage, Deepak used to torture his wife physically and mentally. Anita called her father on Thursday night when the torture heightened. Later, the father and daughter lodged a written complaint against Deepak at the Bagdogra police station. While returning home after filing a complaint at the police station Deepak Roy attacked his father-in-law Sushil Sarkar with a sharp weapon.
Sushil Sarkar was injured in the incident. Along with this, his daughter Anita has also sustained injuries. Meanwhile, the accused is absconding since the incident. Bagdogra police have started searching for the accused.
