Kharibari, 24th April: Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, an individual was apprehended at the Indo-Nepal border in Kharibari for the possession of drugs. The arrested accused identified as Manoj Barai (30) from Dhulabari, Nepal.
According to reports, the youth was intercepted by jawans from the 41st battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the Panitanki market area on Tuesday night based on a tip-off. The SSB personnel conducted a thorough search and recovered 92 grams of brown sugar in possession of the individual. Subsequently, Manoj Barai was handed over to the Kharibari police.
Currently, the case is being transferred to the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for further legal proceedings. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
