Siliguri, 27th November: NJP Police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police arrested a man with 300 grams of brown sugar. The arrested accused has been identified as Gaffar Sheikh, a resident of Kaliachak in Malda.
Police sources said the NJP Police conducted a late-night operation at Porajhar More on Wednesday based on a tip-off. During the operation, 300 grams of brown sugar were recovered from the man, following which he was arrested.
According to police, he brought the brown sugar from Malda with the intention of selling it in Siliguri. The seized brown sugar is worth several lakhs. Police are investigating the entire incident.
