Siliguri, 29th July: A distressing incident surfaced from Siliguri that cast an atmosphere of disbelief and shock among the residents. Accused Kamal Barman (33) was taken into custody by the Pradhan Nagar police station on Sunday night on allegations of sexually harassing his 11-year-old daughter.
Reports indicate that the accused had repeatedly subjected his daughter to sexual harassment. In the recent incident, the victim’s mother explained that she had left home for work on Sunday during the time of the incident. During this, the accused father had allegedly coerced his daughter into an inappropriate task. Meanwhile, the minor was taken aback and horrified by her father’s behaviour and later informed her mother about the entire ordeal when she returned home.
Subsequently, the mother filed a formal complaint at the police station against her husband alleging him of engaging in similar activities in the past. However, she could not voice her concern due to the fear of humiliation. Eventually, she was able to muster up the courage and confront her husband regarding the matter. Meanwhile, the accused was arrested and produced before the Siliguri Court on Monday. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
