Bagdogra, 08th January: A distressing incident surfaced where a minor was allegedly subjected to sexual assault. The incident came to light after the delivery of minor’s newborn. The incident led to the arrest of the accused, identified as, Debesh Sarkar (60), a resident of an area under Bagdogra police station.
According to reports, Debesh allegedly sexually assaulted a minor on several occasions in the absence of the minor’s parents. On Friday, the entire incident came to light after the minor gave birth to a newborn.
Subsequently, a complaint was filed on behalf of the minor’s family at Bagdogra police station. Based on the complaint, the police swiftly arrested the accused. On Monday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court. In addition, the cops of Bagdogra police have sent the minor to a welfare home.
