Siliguri, 05th October: Bhakti Nagar police have arrested a man, identified as Kajal Barman, for allegedly raping a woman in the Vidya Chakra Colony area under Ward No. 44 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
As per reports, the incident took place on Thursday night, October 3, when the 26-year-old woman, who lived with her parents in the same rented house as the accused, went to the washroom. During this time, Kajal Barman allegedly caught her, forcibly dragged her to his room, and committing the henious crime.
Following the incident, the woman’s family lodged a written complaint at Bhakti Nagar police station. Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused on Friday. Kajal Barman was presented before the Jalpaiguri court on Saturday, and further investigation into the case is currently underway.
