Siliguri, 18th January: The police have arrested a man on charges of molestation of a schoolgirl in Siliguri. The incident occurred while the student was returning home from school. The arrested accused has been identified as Sujit Das alias Debakar (33), a resident of Panchkolguri, South Colony under the jurisdiction of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station.
As per reports, on Wednesday afternoon, the schoolgirl was returning home after deboarding the school bus. During this, Sujit Das allegedly pushed the student and indulged in obscene acts.
Later, the entire ordeal was narrated by the schoolgirl to her family members. Following this, the student’s family lodged a written complaint at the Khalpara Outpost. Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and arrested the accused.
On Thursday, the accused has been produced before the Siliguri court. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire matter.
