Siliguri, 24th June: A distressing incident surfaced where a man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his minor daughter, following a complaint by his wife in Ward No. 41 under the Bhakti Nagar police station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
Reportedly, the woman claimed that her husband had been subjecting her to mental and physical abuse for an extended period. In March, she decided to leave her husband’s home and moved to her maternal home with her children.
During this period, her 14-year-old daughter disclosed her father’s sexually abusive behavior. Acting on this revelation, the woman filed a written complaint against her husband. The Bhakti Nagar police swiftly arrested the accused on Sunday night after conducting a preliminary investigation.
On Monday, the accused was charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and was presented in the Jalpaiguri court. The Bhakti Nagar police station continues to investigate the case comprehensively.
