Siliguri, 23rd November: The Bhaktinagar police arrested a man for allegedly molesting a woman by luring her on the pretext of giving her a job. The arrested accused has been identified as Gopal Ghosh.
Reportedly, Gopal Ghosh advertised in a newspaper regarding the appointment of a female worker in one of his shops. After going through the said advertisement, the woman contacted the given phone number.
Allegedly, the man called her to the Ghosh Engineering Workshop situated in the Industrial area near Sevoke road and molested her. The victim somehow managed to escape the spot and later narrated the entire episode to her family. Acting promptly, her family members immediately lodged a complaint against Ghosh at the Bhaktinagar police station.
Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations but could not trace his whereabouts for a few days. The victim’s family members and the police once again visited his office in Sevoke road today. However, Ghosh allegedly hid inside the office.
After a few hours, Ghosh’s family members reached the spot and opened the office, after which, he was arrested. The accused will be produced before the Jalpaiguri court tomorrow. Police are investigating the whole incident.
