Kharibari, 08th August: Sensation prevailed after a man was allegedly murdered by his younger brother in the Dewanvita village of Kharibari. The deceased has been identified as Krishnakant Mondal (23) while the accused brother has been identified as Ramanand Mondal (19).
Sources revealed that a rampant dispute arose between the two brothers over Krishnakant spending Ramanand’s money for purchasing alcohol. The altercation took a heated turn and Krishnakant ended up lynching his own brother with an axe. As a result of the attack, the older brother immediately died on the spot.
Upon receiving the information, the Kharibari police reached the scene and recovered the body following the arrest of the accused brother. The accused was produced in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court later on Tuesday. In this regard, Khagen Mondal, the father of the brothers, expressed how the two were engaged in a history of altercations.
