Siliguri, 20th September: In a tragic turn of events, a man, identified as Sahil Munda, allegedly murdered his friend in an inebriated state in Siliguri. Following the incident, the accused was arrested by the police. The deceased has been identified as Hrithik Munda.
According to reports, on Monday night, Sahil and Hrithik were drinking alcohol in the Patan Tea Estate area under Matigara Police Station. During this, an altercation broke out between the two friends. The matter escalated into a scuffle and Sahil allegedly pushed Hrithik resulting in his head colliding against a stone. The incident left Hrithik severely injured.
Subsequently, the injured individual was rescued and rushed to a hospital. Later on Tuesday night, as Hrithik’s health conditions deteriorated, he was shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, Hrithik’s family filed a complaint against Sahil Munda at the Matigara Police Station. During the investigation based on the complaint, Matigara police apprehended the accused. On Wednesday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court, after registering a case of murder. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation.
