Siliguri, 02nd October: A sensational incident unfolded in Nishchintapur Tea Estate under Matigara police station where a man allegedly murdered his son by stabbing him with a sharp weapon. Following the incident, the accused identified as Kutanu Sabar (55), a tea plantation worker by profession, was arrested.
According to police sources, Kutanu’s son Vishal Sabar was often in an intoxicated state and indulged in fights with his mother and father. A few days ago, Vishal allegedly assaulted his father in an inebriated state and injured him severely. On Sunday night, Vishal arrived home in an intoxicated state and started assaulting his father. Unable to withstand the frequent tortures, the father stabbed his son in the neck with a sharp weapon. As a result, Vishal died on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, the police arrived at the spot, recovered the deceased’s body, and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Subsequently, accused Kutanu Sabar was arrested on charges of murder. On Monday, the arrested accused was produced before the Siliguri court, while, police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
