Siliguri, 29th August: A man, identified as Bipul Sharma, has been arrested by the Ashighar police on charges of engaging in physical relations with a woman under the pretense of marriage. Sharma, a resident of Tiranga More in Siliguri’s Ward No. 41, was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by a woman from Ghogomali, Siliguri.
According to reports, the woman met Bipul Sharma two years ago, leading to a friendship that eventually developed into a romantic relationship. The woman alleged that Sharma promised marriage and engaged in intimate relations with her multiple times. However, he later distanced himself and denied any intention of marrying her.
On Wednesday, the woman filed a written complaint at Ashighar police station. The police investigated the case based on the complaint and arrested Bipul Sharma for deceiving her under the guise of marriage. Sharma was presented in Jalpaiguri Court while the police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
