Kalchini, 01st August: In a disturbing case, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his brother and attempting to conceal the body by burying it in their house. The incident took place at the Middle Line of the Beech Tea Estate in Kalchini block.
Reportedly, Shobhan Ansari (35), was allegedly killed by his younger brother, Jamin Akhtar (28), on Tuesday. After the murder, Jamin allegedly dug a grave in a corner of their house to hide the body and then fled the scene.
Following a two-day manhunt, police from Hasimara Outpost apprehended Jamin Akhtar in Nagrakata. On Thursday, the accused was presented in Alipurduar court.
Local residents, who visited the Hasimara Outpost, have demanded strict punishment for the accused, expressing their outrage over the heinous act.
