Siliguri, 12th November: A man has been arrested by the Women’s Police Station on charges of establishing a physical relationship with a 25-year-old woman under the false promise of marriage. The arrested accused, identified as Noor Shad Alam (21), is a resident of Devidanga under the jurisdiction of the Pradhan Nagar Police Station.
According to the complaint, the accused Alam allegedly began a romantic relationship with the victim around a year and a half ago. During the relationship, Alam coerced the woman into a physical relationship multiple times by promising marriage. However, when the victim suggested marriage, Alam reportedly distanced himself and even resorted to physical abuse.
Upon realizing the deception, the woman filed a complaint at the Women’s Police Station on Monday. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Alam from his residence and produced him before the Siliguri court on Tuesday. The incident is currently under further investigation.
