Siliguri, 16th June: An unsettling incident of attempted murder gripped Ambikanagar on Sunday afternoon after a youth narrowly escaped a fatal attack with sharp weapons, including scissors. The victim identified as Rudra Singh, a resident of Panchkolguri, worked as a security guard.
According to sources, the altercation unfolded when several individuals lured Rudra Singh out of his residence on Sunday afternoon. Upon arriving at Ambikanagar, Rudra was attacked by the group with sharp weapons, including scissors. The assailants fled the scene after the assault leaving Rudra severely injured. The altercation purportedly stemmed after a dispute involving Rudra Singh with the accused group of youths at his workplace.
Upon receiving the information, officers from NJP police station arrived at the scene and Rudra Singh was swiftly transported to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). The police have recovered the scissors used in the attack and have initiated a search operation for the accused group.
