Siliguri, 28th July: A distressing incident has occurred in Siliguri where a man has been accused of murdering his own brother over an altercation. The incident took place in the Taltala area under Ward No. 22 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The deceased has been identified as Pintu Pal, and the accused is his elder brother, Madhusudan Pal.
Reports indicate that on Friday night, Pintu Pal and other family members took their sick mother to the hospital. After returning home, Pintu Pal was reportedly attacked by his brother Madhusudan, who was in an inebriated state. The altercation between the two brothers escalated, leading Madhusudan to attack Pintu with a knife.
Upon receiving the news, family members rushed Pintu to a local hospital, and he was subsequently transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). Despite medical efforts, Pintu succumbed to his injuries early on Sunday morning.
Following the incident, the family has filed a formal complaint with the Siliguri Police Station. Madhusudan Pal has been absconding since the incident, and the police are actively investigating the case.
