Siliguri, 09th January: In recent developments, the Pradhan Nagar police have arrested an individual accused of fraud worth lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing a home loan, after 7 months. The arrested accused has been identified as Gourav Das.
Earlier, in May last year, a person named Indra Bahadur Khatiwada filed a written complaint against the defrauding bank agent Gourav Das at the Pradhan Nagar police station. The complainant alleged that Gourav amassed Rs 1 lakh 28 thousand on the pretence of providing a home loan, however, he did not issue the loan.
Acting on the complaint, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station initiated a search for Gourav Das. On Monday, after a prolonged search of 7 months accused Gourav was arrested. On Tuesday, the police presented the accused before the Siliguri Court after registering a case of fraud. Sources revealed that the accused would be taken on police remand for further interrogation.
