Siliguri, 24th April: In a shocking turn of events, a man is currently undergoing treatment and is stated to be in a critical condition at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) after being attacked by his uncle with a sharp weapon. The incident surfaced from the Ambikanagar area under the NJP police station.
According to reports, the incident unfolded between two brothers, Mithun Sarkar and Amal Sarkar, residents of Ambikanagar. Amal Sarkar, the elder brother, lived in his own house, while Mithun Sarkar resided with their father. Reports indicate that the family was encountering frequent familial disputes over property.
The situation escalated on Wednesday morning when Mithun and his father engaged in a heated argument, resulting in physical violence. Mithun allegedly began assaulting his father, prompting his brother Amal Sarkar and his son Amiya to intervene. However, the matter took a serious turn as Mithun allegedly attacked his nephew Amiya with a sharp weapon.
Consequently, Amiya sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the NBMCH for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, Mithun, the accused, fled the scene following the incident. The NJP police has initiated an investigation into the matter based on the filed complaint.
