Malda, 14th January: 34-year-old Kamal Sheikh, a youth in Malda, was attacked due to old enmity. The incident took place on Monday night in Chandpur area under Pukhuria police station in Malda. The accused has been identified as Manglu Sheikh.
Kamal’s family members informed that there was a dispute between Kamal and Manglu Sheikh concerning money. A negotiation meeting was also held but Manglu failed to reach the meeting venue. After this, Kamal filed a complaint against Manglu at Pukhuria police station.
It is alleged that while returning home on Monday night, Manglu attacked Kamal with a sharp weapon. When the locals reached the spot, Manglu fled away from the scene.
The injured was rescued and admitted to Malda Medical College-Hospital. Meanwhile, in Pukhuria police station, Kamal’s family members have filed a written complaint in connection with the incident. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
