Alipurduar, 22nd January: 2 houses were burnt to ashes in a massive fire that broke out around 1 am last night in Barobisha area under Alipurduar district.
It was reported that Nikhil Debnath’s residence caught fire first and then the blaze eventually spread to his brother Akhil Debnath’s house.
In the incident, both their residences and the attached shops and warehouses were burnt. Upon receiving the news, 4 fire engines from Alipurduar, Barobisha and Assam reached the spot and extinguished the fire after 3 long hours.
Reportedly, valuables worth a few lakhs were destroyed in the incident. However, the reason for the fire break out has not yet been determined.
