Siliguri, 05th September: Siliguri Metropolitan’s ADCP Subhendra Kumar, during a press meet today, announced the successful recovery of drugs valued at approximately Rs 35 to 36 lakhs in a series of operations conducted within a single day. These operations led to the arrest of five individuals in three separate cases.
The most substantial operation took place in Siliguri’s Ward No. 04, where a joint effort involving the Special Operations Group (SOG), Detective Department (DD), Siliguri Police Station, and Khalpara Outpost revealed a drug godown hidden inside a rented house. From Ward No. 04 alone, the police recovered 3,000 Yaba tablets, 100 cartons of narcotic drugs, and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash from the premises. Additionally, cannabis and banned cough syrup were seized from two different locations under the Bhakti Nagar police station.
