Siliguri, 04th April: Police arrested the main accused within hours in connection with the attack on a youth with a bottle in Siliguri. The arrested has been identified as Tilshankar Mukhiya, while another accused is still absconding.
It is worth mentioning that on Friday evening, following an argument over some issue, Tilshankar Mukhiya attacked Bidyut Dey with a glass bottle, injuring him on various parts of his body.
Bidyut Dey collapsed at the scene in a bloodied condition. Local residents rescued him and rushed him to Siliguri District Hospital. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was later admitted to a private nursing home in Siliguri.
After the incident, the accused fled the area. Upon receiving information, police from NJP Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation.
Within a few hours, police arrested Tilshankar Mukhiya from the DS Colony area in Siliguri.
