Siliguri, 06th January: Maharashtra Police arrested two women in Siliguri in connection to the murder of a man committed in Nashik. Reportedly, the deceased’s wife and mother-in-law were nabbed from Siliguri after 5 months while police were probing the suicide case of a man. The deceased’s wife has been identified as Pooja Chhetri and mother-in-law Savita Chhetri. After arresting both of them from Siliguri they were produced in the court, the Maharashtra Police has taken both on transit remand and left for Nashik today.
Reportedly, Yogesh Narger, a resident of Nashik, Maharashtra, was acquainted with a girl named Pooja Chhetri on social media. After a few days, the acquaintance turned into a love affair. After this, Yogesh and Pooja got married on June 5 last year in Nashik. A few months after the marriage, a rift started between the two. Fed up with the unrest, Yogesh committed suicide on September 30 at his home in Nashik. At the same time, after this incident, Pooja and her mother Savita moved from Nashik to Siliguri. The family suspected Yogesh’s sudden act of suicide and lodged a written complaint at the Maharashtra police station against Pooja and Savita.
Based on the complaint, the investigating police reached Siliguri on Thursday night and arrested Pooja and her mother Savita Chhetri from different areas of Siliguri with the help of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police. Maharashtra Police have booked Pooja and her mother Savita Chhetri for abetting Yogesh’s suicide.
