Naxalbari, 14th February: The death of a Madhyamik student has caused a stir in the Mech Basti area of Naxalbari. The deceased has been identified as Arpita Mondal, a resident of the Khalpara area of Naxalbari.
According to reports, Arpita Mondal, a student of Naxalbari Nand Prasad Girls High School, was appearing for her Madhyamik exams from her friend’s house. On Thursday afternoon, when she did not wake up, her friend called out to her. Later, Arpita’s mother was informed. She was immediately taken to Naxalbari Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
On Friday, the body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for an autopsy. Meanwhile, police have started an investigation to determine the cause of death. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
