Rajganj, 11th February: A Madhyamik examinee was injured in a road accident while on her way to appear for the Life Science examination on Wednesday, triggering tension in the area.
The student, identified as Sabana Khatun from Kalangini area of Fulbari and a student of Fulbari High School, was heading to her examination centre at Bandhunagar DN High School when the incident occurred.
According to reports, a motorcycle allegedly hit her in the Fulbari-Amaidighi area in the morning, causing her to fall on the road. She sustained serious injuries to her head, neck and back. Locals rushed her to a private hospital in Fulbari where she received multiple stitches on her head.
Later, she was taken to Rajganj Rural Hospital to enable her to sit for the examination and she managed to write for some time. However, her condition suddenly deteriorated and she began vomiting.
Considering the seriousness of her condition, doctors referred her to Jalpaiguri Super Speciality Hospital.
Subsequently, her family members shifted her to a private hospital in Siliguri.
