Siliguri, 18th February: The Madhyamik examination has commenced from today and will continue till February 27.
According to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, 10,15,888 students will be appearing for the examinations out of which 4,39,879 are males and 5,76,009 are females. Strict surveillance has been provided in all test centres. The examiners have also been banned from using mobile phones in the test centres. Besides, students will not be able to use smart and digital watches. 42 blocks under 6 districts have been ordered to hold internet service during the examination.
The traffic department has taken initiatives to control traffic congestion. A special control room has also been set up. Apart from this, the North Bengal State Transport Company will also provide special services for transportation.
An official of the West Bengal Secondary Education Board stated that the police and the administration have been requested to remain active so that the examination can be completed seamlessly.
