Madhyamik examination begins peacefully in Jalpaiguri district under tight security

Rajganj, 02nd February: The Madhyamik (secondary) examination began across the state on Monday amid strict security measures and smooth administrative arrangements. In Jalpaiguri district, the examination commenced peacefully at various centres, including Sahudangi Hat PK Roy High School in Rajganj block.


According to official data, a total of 9,71,340 candidates are appearing for the Madhyamik examination across West Bengal this year. Among them are 4,26,733 boys and 5,44,606 girls. The total number of examination centres across the state stands at 2,682.

In Jalpaiguri district, a total of 35,888 candidates are appearing for the examination, including 15,725 boys and 20,163 girls. The district has 94 examination centres.


To encourage the candidates, members of the Binnaguri Anchal Trinamool Youth Congress and the Rajganj Block Kisan Khet Mazdoor organisation distributed water bottles and pens among students on the first day of the examination. Similar initiatives were taken by the Fulbari Traffic Outpost, where traffic police distributed water bottles and pens to examinees.

For the convenience of candidates, help desks have also been set up at various locations to provide necessary assistance.
