Siliguri, 23rd June: Inspired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and with the assistance of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, ‘Ma Canteen’ has been opened at the NJP station premises in Siliguri’s Ward No. 35.
The canteen was inaugurated on Wednesday by SMC administrator Goutam Deb. Meals comprising rice, pulses, vegetables, eggs, and chutney were served to 200 needy people at only Rs 5.
Ranjan Sarkar, a member of the BoA at SMC, said that an initiative has been taken to open five ‘Ma canteens’ in Siliguri.
