Bagdogra, 23rd April: A tragic incident occurred on the Dharam Kanta Asian Highway-2 near Bagdogra’s Airport More, where a lottery vendor named Jugal Roy was hit by a four-wheeler while crossing the road on his way home.
Roy, a resident of Bhujiapani, had just finished selling lottery in Bagdogra and was returning home late on Saturday night when the accident took place. The four-wheeler driver fled the scene, leaving the injured Roy behind. Locals promptly informed the Bagdogra police about the incident.
Upon arrival, the police rescued Jugal Roy, who was severely injured and rushed him to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the night. The entire community is in mourning due to this heartbreaking incident. The Bagdogra police have initiated an investigation into the hit-and-run incident to identify the driver responsible for Jugal Roy’s death.
