Kaliaganj, 18th July: A freight lorry lost control and barged into a shop, seriously injuring one person this morning. The incident took place at around 5 am today near Asha More of Kaliaganj block under Uttar Dinajpur district.
According to local sources, the freight lorry was heading to Kaliaganj from Raiganj this morning, when it suddenly lost control while crossing a speed breaker in the Asha More area and crashed into two shops. A local club was also damaged in this incident, while one person was seriously injured.
The injured was recovered and taken to Raiganj Medical College and Hospital. However, the driver of the lorry and his helper fled away. On the other hand, Kaliaganj police reached the spot and took the lorry in their possession. An investigation has been initiated on the entire incident.
