Kharibari, 24th April: The Indo-Nepal border has been sealed from Tuesday night for the public in view of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Notably, the second phase of Lok Sabha polls would be conducted on April 26 which prompted the closure of the border for 72 hours.
Reportedly, the Indo-Nepal border at Kharibari under Darjeeling district has been closed for commute. However, tourists and individuals seeking medical care have been exempted from the closure. Significantly, after the conclusion of the second phase of polls, unrestricted travelling would prevail.
